STYLISH DESIGN

The WDS 76 doors are available in a variety of designs. Laminated HPL panels, glazing units, sandblasting decorations, designer handles—your door’s appearance is for you to decide. We provide a wide range of door decoration options to perfectly match your building’s facade.

NO NEED FOR

With heat-insulated WDS 76 front doors, it’s no longer necessary to have a vestibule in the building to improve energy efficiency.

SECURITY

The WDS 76 doors have been developed to meet the high international security standards.

A door’s burglar-proofing is a combination of multiple factors:

• Burglarproof hardware
• Appropriate backset (the distance between the edge of the door and the center of the borehole where the lock or handle is installed)
• Robust mortise lock
• Durable panel or glazing unit with multi-layer glass
• Proper installation.

SOUND PROOFING

Among the WDS 76 doors’ strengths having implications for living comfort is their reliable sound-proofing. Soundproof glazing units and thick XPS panels cut off outdoor noise. How tight the sash is pressed against the frame is important, too.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Wide glazing units, 48-mm HPL panels, and specifically configured thresholds bring the WDS 76 doors’ heat conservation on par with windows, with Uf reaching $1.3\ W/m^2K$—the level that satisfies the current industry regulations. • Meanwhile, tight closing ensures the doors’ high air permeability class.

RELIABILITY AND DURABILITY

High leak-proofing is another indicator crucial for reliable doors. To a great extent, it depends on the rigidity of the door panel as well as the frame and sash profile configuration.

The WDS 76 doors are designed for problem-free long-term operation. Closed reinforcements within the sash guarantee that even long-term intensive operation will cause no deformations or dropping. High-quality rigid door panels also ensure the assembly's stability and preserve its declared specifications for many years.

RELIABLE THRESHOLD SOLUTION FOR WARMTH AND AIR-TIGHTNESS

The places where the frame meets the threshold and where the door sash is pressed against the threshold require special attention at the design stage. The WDS 76 doors have an additional Windstop element in the frame's corners to protect against drafts. Also, the plastic thermal bridge integrated into the threshold eliminates frost penetration, while reliable gaskets in the threshold area provide additional draft-proofing.

Windstop Elements: Installed in the threshold zone, these reliably protect from drafts and enhance the doors' thermal insulation.

Threshold Insulation: Using polymeric and rubber inserts helps substantially reduce thermal conductivity in the door threshold area.

Triple Gasket Usage: Ensures that the sash is pressed against the threshold as tightly as possible to provide maximum air-tightness.

EASE OF USE AND PRACTICALITY

The WDS 76 doors can be configured according to the customer's preferences and requirements:

1.Opening type: inward- or outward-opening.

2.Door handing: left- or right-handed.

3.Opening hardware: lever handle or other handle type, lock, or automation.

INWARD- AND OUTWARD-OPENING DOORS: PROS AND CONS

Take into account the following while picking a door.

OUTWARD-OPENING

Outward Opening
PROS
  1. Space-efficient
  2. Open in the escape direction
  3. Closed tighter by the wind
CONS
  1. Outward-opening sashes are more prone to thermal deformations.
  2. The sash can break off if opened in the strong wind.
  3. External hinge orientation visually detracts from the facade.
  4. Door sidelights are manufactured separately.
  5. Piled-up snow can interfere with opening.

INWARD-OPENING

Inward Opening
PROS
  1. Stability and durability.
  2. Easier to open with full hands.
  3. Provides for keeping a doormat.
  4. Safer for visitors to open.
  5. Internal hinge orientation for security.
CONS
  1. The door swing detracts from indoor space.
  2. Strong wind can potentially result in drafts.
